Cochise County Sheriff, Mark J. Dannels, is a 30 year veteran of law enforcement. Prior to law enforcement, he served in the U.S. Army. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management from Aspen University and is a Certified Public Manager from Arizona State University. He attended Disney’s Leadership and Executive Training programs and is a graduate of the Rural Executive Management Institute. Sheriff Dannels also is a long time member of several law enforcement associations and councils, serves on several community service groups, and instructs at Wayland Baptist University.
Sheriff Dannels received numerous awards to include the Medal of Valor, Sheriff’s Medal, Deputy of the Year, Distinguished Service Award, Unit Citation Award, National Police Hall of Fame, Lifesaving Award, an appointment by the Governor for his efforts in highway and community safety, and dozens of community-service awards.
Sheriff Dannels has 3 primary objectives: Organizational Development, Border Security, and Community Outreach.
